ArmInfo. The Fashion and Design Chamber of Armenia (FDC) in cooperation with the Fashion Scout platform (London, UK) promotes young talented designers.
On the eve of the first Fashion Week in Yerevan, FDC announced the launch of the Fashion Scout Armenia competition initiative, within which young designers who are already taking or want to take their first steps in the fashion industry will be able to express themselves.
As the co-founder of the Chamber of Fashion and Design of Armenia Helen Manukyan noted during a press conference on June 23, a total of 40 applications were received from young talents, from which the jury, which included international experts, selected 8 applicants. The latter, according to Manukyan, will take part in Fashion Week in Yerevan, where they will be able to present their works on the first day of the opening.
She emphasized that the final winners will be 2 designers who will have new opportunities for retraining and personal growth abroad. In particular, one of the winners, according to Helen Manukyan, will go to the UK in September this year to study at the London Fashion Scout. And the second winner in Florence will undergo a 2-month retraining with the famous Armenian knitwear designer Naira Khachatryan.
It should be reminded that Fashion Week (Yerevan Fashion Week) in Yerevan will be held from July 1 to July 6 at the HayArt Cultural Center (7a Mashtots street), within which collections of 20 Armenian designers will be presented.
