ArmInfo.Discussions on the issue of enclaves are still ongoing and the residents of the villages nearby have no reason to worry. This was announced on June 2 in a conversation with journalists by Chief of Staff at the Office of Prime Minister of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan.
He noted that the Armenian delegation returned from Chisinau late in the evening and he had not yet had the opportunity to get acquainted with the details of the five-sided meeting in the capital of Moldova.
Answering the question why the borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan are subject to delimitation according to the maps of 1975, and not according to the maps of 1923, when the territory of Armenia was more than 31 thousand square kilometers, Harutyunyan noted that the group that is engaged in the process of delimitation and demarcation boundaries, discusses this issue.
No less important is the solution of the problem of ensuring the security and rights of the inhabitants of Artsakh, which, according to the Armenian side, must be guaranteed by international mediators. The very participation of France and Germany in the negotiations on this issue, Harutyunyan stressed, says a lot, and this is important.
Speaking about the intentions of the Russian Federation to open its consulate in the Syunik region of Armenia, Harutyunyan noted that the country's Foreign Ministry is dealing with this issue. The process, according to him, is under negotiation. <If there are citizens of the country and there is a need for this - the opening of the consulate is an important step>, said the head of the RA Prime Minister's Office.
