ArmInfo.In 2024, vaccination against chicken pox will be started in Armenia. This was announced by Minister of Health of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan during the discussions of the draft implementation of the law "On the state budget of 2022".
At the same time, she noted that within the first stage, vaccination will be carried out in the ranks of the RA servicemen. Such a decision, according to the minister, was made in view of the severe course of the disease in this age group and the high rate of spread.The next stage of the program is for children, the head of the Ministry of Health noted.
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2022, 18,795 cases of chickenpox infection were registered in Armenia, which is many times higher than the figure of a year ago. In 2021, 5,412 cases were registered.
