ArmInfo.Armenia will construct a new bridge near Lusagyugh, Armavir province, on the interstate road of the M3 motorway, the Armenian-Turkish border-Margara-Vanadzor- Tashir-Armenian-Georgian border, the Road Department Fund reports.
Armenia's government is funding the bridge construction project.
One of the components of the project is renovation of a detour bridge near the village of Lusagyugh. The bridge is now being operated, with the permissible weight of vehicles using it being 7 tons.
Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan voiced hope recently for the reopening of the Armenian-Turkish border, which will facilitate the development of neighborly relations. ArmInfo, referring to diplomatic sources, reported earlier that the Armenian-Turkish border is likely to start serving residents of third countries from July 1, 2023.
"It is important that an agreement on reopening the border for residents of third countries and holders of diplomatic passports be implemented in the coming months," Mr Pashinyan said.
