ArmInfo. In Armenia, the process of raising servicemen's salaries is beginning. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on May 29 during the discussions in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on the implementation of the law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2022".
He noted that the increase of servicemen's salaries will be carried out in accordance with the process of their voluntary accreditation, the decision on which was made last year. In accordance with the principles of the government, the servicemen's salaries should be at least doubled. Previously, a unified voluntary certification scale was established in the armed forces, which included combat, tactical and physical training, which caused concern among the servicemen. For this reason, a three-stage system of voluntary certification has been introduced, upon passing which by 70% the salary will increase by 50-70%, and if the exam is satisfactory, the salary will also increase, but in a more modest amount. But at the next stage, the latter will be able to show better results, which will increase the salaries of contractors and officers. Those military personnel who do not pass the certification will continue to serve with the same salary. "Nevertheless, in the medium term, only those servicemen who have passed certification and meet all quality indicators should serve in the army," the head of government noted.
He added that a similar process will begin in the system of the National Security Service, the RA Police and the State Security Service.
Pashinyan stressed that reforms in the armed forces have begun, and reforms in the police system are already visible. This year, the process of introducing the Patrol Service throughout the republic will be completed, there is hope for the rapid formation of the water police, Nikol Pashinyan noted.
