ArmInfo. During my visit to Baku, the issue of opening the Lachin/Berdzor corridor was raised. Under Secretary of State for Europe of UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Leo Docherty stated on May 22 at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
He assured that this issue was one of the key issues on the agenda of the visit. "We raised the issue of free movement of people through the Lachin corridor. Our relations with Baku are as important as our relations with Yerevan. And our position has not changed, and we are convinced that this confrontation cannot ensure a stable peace," he said, adding that London stands for the establishment of a stable and lasting peace in the region and this can only be achieved at the negotiating table.
According to him, it is for this reason that the UK supports a forum under the auspices of the EU and the US to promote this issue. " We will try to use our influence to move this matter forward," Docherty said.
