Samvel Babayan: We must live, create and be protected

ArmInfo. Artsakh has faced a very serious problem related to the fact that its citizens can become  refugees. ®United Motherland party Leader, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Babayan stated on May 15 at a crowded rally in Stepanakert.

According to him, we all want to see the country free and  independent, as it was stated in the declaration of independence.  However, there is a group of people who believe that there is a  struggle for power in Artsakh, and Samvel Babayan is no exception. "I  want to emphasize once again that our political force has never  aspired to competition and positions. Our main problem today is  yesterday's statements made in Brussels that the territory of  Azerbaijan is 86.6 thousand square kilometers, including  Nagorno-Karabakh as well, and Armenia recognizes that. 

At present, everyone who tries to come to power tries to present  himself as the savior of Karabakh or to see salvation in the struggle  to the end, not thinking at all for what and where that struggle will  lead.  Meanwhile, we do not have to fight, we must live, create and  be protected. This is our future, and we must follow this path>,  Samvel Babayan noted, presenting the priority tasks that need to be  addressed. First of all to provide a security environmen, which  involves the formation of a professional army. The second problem  that needs to be solved is overcoming the demographic crisis, and for  this it is very important to develop the economy, increase the income  of citizens and increase the birth rate. The third task is the social  protection of pensioners. 

<The country must take the path of development, otherwise, we will  not be able to live here. Moreover, it is necessary to complete these  tasks within 100 days>, Babayan emphasized, adding that when the  appropriate conditions are created, it will be possible to lead  Artsakh in the right way. "In this case, our future will be in our  hands, and not in the hands of our enemies," the former Minister of  Defense of Artsakh emphasized.
