Suren Papikyan: Armenian Defense Ministry has developed new concept  of territorial defense and local defense

ArmInfo.The Armenian Ministry of Defense has recently developed a new concept of territorial defense  and local defense. RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan stated this  on May 3 during the government hour in the RA National Assembly.

According to him, the approval of the concept will lead to the need  to develop legal acts that will be discussed in the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia. It will be possible to talk about the  details of the project when the document goes into circulation, the  minister noted, "I don't want to get ahead of things, but I want to  assure that the RA government is doing everything possible to prepare  the reservists through training for integration into the area where  it may be necessary to defend the country," the head of the defense  department stressed. He added that special attention is paid to all  reserve staff, including those who, for various reasons, did not  serve in the ranks of the armed forces, so that this category of  citizens knows how to handle weapons for their use, if necessary, in  the defense of the Motherland.
