ArmInfo. The memorials of the organizers of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, Talaat Pasha and Enver Pasha - analogues of fascist Hitler and Himmler are in the most prominent place in Istanbul. Thus, Adviser to the President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Representative of the President for Special Assignments, ex-Foreign Minister of Artsakh David Babayan commented on the statement of the Turkish Foreign Minister.
Babayan stated that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, commenting on the closure of the airspace for Armenia, mentioned the inadmissibility of the installation of the monument to the heroes of the "Nemesis" operation and Armenia's alleged supply of arms to Artsakh as the basis.
"Well, it makes no sense to talk about the absurdity of the supply of weapons to the besieged Artsakh. But, as for the monument, I would like to remind, not the Turkish minister, but us and the civilized community, that there is a Freedom Monument in Istanbul, which symbolizes modernity, democracy and secularism of Turkey, serves as a place of official ceremonies and public gatherings, including democratic forces.
So, the memorials of the organizers of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, Talaat Pasha and Enver Pasha - analogues of fascist Hitler and Himmler are in the most prominent place in Istanbul," the adviser to the NKR President noted.
In this vein, he recalled that the remains of Talaat were brought to Istanbul from Berlin in 1943, Enver - in 1996.
"If I'm not mistaken, there was no reaction from the international community to this. It's this spinelessness, assenting to the aggressor that leads to terrible tragedies. In such a situation, the day when the memorial to the Fuhrer will appear in Berlin is not far off," Babayan summed up.
It should be noted that on April 29, Turkey closed its airspace for flights of the Armenian airline Flyone Armenia to Europe without warning, and the airline's Paris-Yerevan flight was forced to land in Chisinau, and only on the night of April 30 it was able to return to Zvartnots airport. And already on May 2, the Turkish aviation authorities did not provide FLYONE ARMENIA with the overflight opportunity through Turkish airspace. In view of this, the company was forced to cancel the Yerevan-Paris-Yerevan flight.
In this regard, Cavusoglu stated that Turkey closed the sky for Armenian planes "in response to a provocation in Yerevan", namely the opening of a monument to the participants in the Nemesis operation in the capital of the Republic of Armenia.
