Chief of General Staff of RA Armed Forces briefs French FM on territorial losses in direction of Jermuk

ArmInfo. Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Edvard Asryan, in the city of Jermuk, presented to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Catherine Colonna, the total area of the territory of penetration of the Azerbaijanis into the sovereign territory of Armenia as a result of the aggression on September 13-14.

"I will show directly on the spot what a threat the presence of the enemy on the territory of Armenia poses for the city of Jermuk. The total area of the territory of penetration is 60.06 square kilometers. According to our assessment, the goal of the Azerbaijani armed forces is to enter the city of Jermuk and inflict a serious economic blow on Armenia.  The enemy attacked not only military but also economic and political targets with rockets, missiles, artillery and drones. A lot of damage was caused to civilian infrastructures, significant damage was also caused to the city of Jermuk, the cable car is still not working. Their actions were not only in the direction of Vayots Dzor and Jermuk, but also in 2 main directions in Syunik region, in 2 directions in Gegharkunik region, in total in 5 directions," Asryan said.

He added that as a result of these hostilities, Armenia suffered both human and territorial losses. "Currently, the enemy is deployed on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia with an area of about 139 square kilometers," Asryan emphasized, Armenpress reports.

The Chiefof the General Staff of the Republic of Armenia showed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France where the Azerbaijani positions were before the military aggression on September 13-14, and where they are now.
