Chief of RA AF General Staff on situation on borders

ArmInfo. At present, I assess the situation on the border as relatively stable, but ceasefire violations are registered in the direction of Syunik and Gegharkunik.  Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Edvard Asryan stated in an interview with journalists in Jermuk on April 28.

According to him, the enemy's goal of violating the ceasefire is always to maintain a tense situation, but everything is under our control.

When asked how the interaction between the defense department and the European Union civilian mission in Armenia (EUMA Armenia) is going, Asryan noted that he highly appreciates this interaction and the emerging issues are resolved properly. He also expressed his conviction that the mission is fulfilling its task.

When asked about the situation in the Tegh village section, whether it was possible to push the Azerbaijanis out of our territories, the head of the General Staff replied that the positional infrastructure has already been formed, which is improving every day. "The Armenian Armed Forces are already in communication with the enemy in the direction of Tegh, we there already have a frontline and the positions are being improved.  Every day, we are doing appropriate work to improve and also gain an advantage over the enemy in some areas.  In other areas, the armed forces are fulfilling the tasks assigned to them," Asryan assured.
