ArmInfo. On April 27, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will meet with the parents of 15 soldiers who died in a fire in the barracks of one of the military units in the village of Azat, Gegharkunik region of the Republic of Armenia, lawyer Norayr Norikyan said on social networks.
According to him, the meeting will be held behind closed doors, only the parents of the dead servicemen will take part in it.
Earlier, on April 21, relatives and friends of 15 dead servicemen held a protest action in front of the RA government building. They demanded a meeting with the prime minister and the head of the Defense Ministry.
On the night of January 19, at 01:30, a fire broke out in the barracks of the engineer company in the village of Azat. As a result, 15 servicemen were killed. According to the Investigative Committee, the cause of the fire was the use of gasoline for heating. Seven senior officials of the military unit were dismissed from their posts, including the commander of the second army corps, the chief of staff for the rear of the corps, the deputy commander for combat duty, the head of the engineering service, the commander of the engineer- sapper company and the head of the fire safety of the logistic support of the RA Armed Forces.
