ArmInfo. It's mean to seek friendly relations with Azerbaijan by passing on information about the security of Armenia. This is how the Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan commented on the message to the Politico publication that the EU observation mission in the territory of the Republic of Armenia shares the information on patrols with Azerbaijan.
"Today, speaking to POLITICO authoritative news agency, in an article on Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, on condition of anonymity, a senior official in the EU's diplomatic service bemoaned the fact that the EU monitoring mission shares "all relevant information on patrols and so on with Azerbaijan". This surprising, shocking and scandalous statement should be analyzed in detail.
Firstly, what does it mean to work on the territory of Armenia, along the border of Armenia and exchange information with Azerbaijan?!" Ashotyan asked.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, if this is done as a manifestation of good will towards Azerbaijan, then it is mean to seek Azerbaijan's friendly attitude by passing information about Armenia's security.
"The EU failed to push Azerbaijani President Aliyev towards more constructive cooperation, having many other levers, and the transfer of information related to the security of Armenia becomes a coin, then in the case of any normal government, sharp assessments of the mission's activities would be expected," Ashotyan said.
Secondly, the politician continued, what does it mean to share all relevant information on patrols and so on with Azerbaijan "I mean, if this is done before observing this or that section of the border, then how many pennies is this observation worth if Azerbaijan is informed in advance and clearly does not go to any provocations worthy of registration of observers?
If this information is transmitted after observations, this means that information about the Armed Forces of Armenia is transmitted to Azerbaijan. Am I correctly understand this catastrophic absurdity?," the oppositionist asked himself.
In this vein, Ashotyan recalled that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, answering a question about the reports of the EU observer mission at the meeting of the NA Commission on External Relations on March 24, said that these reports were not available to him, because they were intended for official use by Brussels.
"Today it has become clear that these reports actually "sent" to Brussels with one hand, and to Baku with the other hand, and Yerevan gets a geopolitical combination of three fingers. After all this, who is Yerevan, if not a bargaining chip in the more tempting game of Brussels and Baku ?!" asks Ashotyan.
It is noteworthy that there was another scandal in Armenia today related to the efforts of the West to establish peace in the South Caucasus. Thus, Erik Hakobyan, journalist of the Civilnet media holding, wrote on his Twitter on April 5: " We where asked to not talk about the right to self determination by @euinarmenia and @usembarmenia but focus on "right and securities" for the people of Artsakh. Is this what your "rights and securities" look like @SecBlinken @eucopresident?the journalist asked.
And today, Hakobyan, retweeting his own earlier post, wrote: "I did not think it needed clarification, but apparently it does. The "We" I am referring to is the "Armenian nation" as a whole and not @CivilNetTV Debate, criticize and attack all you want, but misrepresenting what any one is trying to say is unbecoming of any one doing so.
