RA Deputy FM briefs Swedish MPs on Azerbaijan`s attempts to undermine  Armenia`s efforts to establish peace in South Caucasus 

ArmInfo. RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received the delegation of the Sweden-Armenia Riksdag  Parliamentary Friendship Group headed by the Group's Chairman Bjorn Soder.

Welcoming the visit of the Swedish parliamentarians to Armenia, the  Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the role of active  inter-parliamentary contacts in the development of bilateral  Armenian-Swedish relations, the RA MFA Press Service reports.

 Paruyr Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the position of the group of  friends on issues of vital importance for Armenia and the raising of  these issues both in the Riksdag  of Sweden and at international  inter- parliamentary platforms.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related  to regional and international security.

The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed the Swedish parliamentarians on  Azerbaijan's aggressive actions against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh,  including the worsening humanitarian crisis in Artsakh as a result of  the illegal blocking of the Berdzor (Lachin) corridor. At the same  time, he stressed that such a position of Azerbaijan is aimed at  completely undermining Armenia's efforts to establish stability and  peace in the South Caucasus. In this context, Hovhannisyan stressed  the need to send an international fact-finding mission to the Berdzor  corridor.
