ArmInfo. Information about transfer of weapons from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh is a propaganda lie, the purpose of which is to create legitimacy for a possible escalation. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on March 30 at a government meeting.
"Azerbaijan not only continued the illegal blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh, but also carried out another invasion into the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers," Pashinyan said.
He noted that the fact of the invasion was also recorded by the Russian Ministry of Defense in the official bulletin, which refers to the capture of height 20/54.
<Thus, we can record that Azerbaijan not only does not comply with the decision of the International Court of Justice of February 22 of this year, about ending the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, but also aggravates the situation even more by taking actions to block internal transport routes in Nagorno- Karabakh>, the prime minister said.
According to him, as a result of occupying this height in the Shushi-Lisagor section, Azerbaijan took under fire control the Stepanakert-Lisagor dirt road between the villages of Aghavno and Tegh, reasoning that by the fact that the Armenian side allegedly transports weapons along this road.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the information is not true, considering it a propaganda lie aimed at preparing another escalation. He recalled that Armenia does not have any armed forces in Nagorno- Karabakh, and Baku itself refused the opportunity to verify this fact by sending an international fact-finding team proposed by the Armenian side back in October 2022 in Prague. At the same time, as Pashinyan pointed out, the proposal is still in force. "There is a need for a final clarification of this issue at the international level, and the way to do it is to send a fact-finding mission to the Lachin Corridor and Nagorno-Karabakh," he said.
Pashinyan stressed that there is a Defense Army in Nagorno-Karabakh, the purpose of which is to prevent the genocide of the Armenian population by Azerbaijan. "We must consistently inform the international community about this and work on the activation of relevant international mechanisms," the head of the Armenian Cabinet said.
