On March 29, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Latvia, met with Andris Teikmanis, Chief of Staff of the President of Latvia, Janis Kazocins, the National Security Adviser to the President of Latvia, Ingrida Levrence, the Under-Secretary of State for European Affairs and Maris Cepuritis, the Adviser on National Security Affairs to the Prime Minister of Latvia. During the meetings, the parties stressed the importance of holding high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, as well as the presence of the European Union mission in Armenia.
The Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia presented to his partners the humanitarian crisis that arose in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the illegal blocking of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, and the security challenges of Armenia, including concerns about a possible escalation of violence by Azerbaijan. In the context of the abovementioned, Grigoryan emphasized the need to send an international fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor. Latvia's partners expressed their readiness to support Armenia in security issues and strengthen the EU mission.
