ArmInfo. As of the current situation, the Azerbaijani side submitted four proposals for a peace treaty with Armenia, to which official Yerevan responded with three counter initiatives. RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan stated this on March 24 at the session of the RA National Assembly's Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.
According to him, Armenia has not yet formed its response to the last, fourth package of proposals from Azerbaijan. The minister stated that on many points, although not yet in an ideal form, there are mutually acceptable formulations. <There are discussions, the parties agree to some compromises on some issues. However, I have to state with regret that these compromises are not related to the main points. Discussions on key issues are still ongoing, and on them the positions of the parties are far from each other>, Mirzoyan noted.
The head of the Foreign Ministry noted that no proposals were received from the West during the negotiations. "There were and are initiatives of the Russian side on the negotiating table, which were formalized in the form of parameters, and with which the Armenian side agreed, but the Azerbaijani side did not agree. In particular, about postponing the clarification of the status of Artsakh. All other options are Armenian-Azerbaijani ones>, the minister noted, pointing to the formation of mechanisms for direct negotiations between Baku and Stepanakert to ensure the security and rights of the people of Nagorno- Karabakh.
Speaking about the work of the first mission of civilian observers of the European Union, as Mirzoyan noted, a document was adopted that had a limited addressability and was available only to member countries of the European Union.
