ArmInfo. We see the undisguised attempts of the West to embroil Russia and Armenia, let's call a spade a spade, to undermine regional security, thinking and caring not about the interests of the countries located here, but about their purely geopolitical, selfish interests.
I am sure that such attempts are doomed to failure. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on March 20 at a joint press conference following the results of negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.
Lavrov said that he had discussed in detail with Mirzoyan the situation around the Lachin (Berdzor) corridor, and in general in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him, the importance of resuming negotiations on all areas of trilateral agreements between the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan was noted.
"Taking into account the significant work done to unblock transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus, we expect that in the near future the vice-premiers-co-chairs of the working group will be able to reach specific agreements. We stand for the activation of the activities of the commission on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the advisory assistance of Russia, in full accordance with the agreements of the leaders of the three countries," he said. According to him, Russia is also ready to further assist in the conclusion of a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan.
At the same time, he stressed that the emphasis was placed on broader regional formats, including the 3+3 consultative platform. "We agreed to work closely on the main regional and international platforms, work together to strengthen the CSTO, expand cooperation within the EAEU and the CIS, support each other's initiatives, primarily within the UN, and cooperate in the OSCE," he said.
In conclusion, Lavrov expressed his satisfaction with the negotiations with Mirzoyan.
