Canada to open embassy in Armenia soon 

ArmInfo. Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan held a meeting with Canadian Ambassador to Armenia Alison LeClaire, as part of his visit to the COAF SMART  Center in Lori, Armenia. 

According to a Facebook post, the sides discussed the action plan of  opening a Canadian embassy in Armenia, as well as a number of issues  of Armenia's foreign policy. 

Mr Kerobyan thanked Ms Alison LeClaire for social programmes in Lori. 

Canada opened its Consulate in Armenia last November. Armenia and  Canada established diplomatic relations in 1992. Armenia opened its  embassy in Canada in 1995. 

Armenian-Canadian trade turnover totaled $45.7mln last year - a 74.8%  growth as compared with 2021.  Exports totaled $2.9mln (a 48.7%  decline) and imports $42.8mln.
