Border guard who instigated his comrade-in-arms to commit suicide was  arrested

ArmInfo.A serviceman of the border troops of the National Security Service of Armenia who instigated his comrade-in-arms to commit suicide was arrested. This is reported by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

According to the source, on March 11, at 13:15, at the place of  permanent deployment of the N-th border outpost of the National  Security Service of Armenia, the body of border guard Artush  Gevorgyan with a fatal gunshot wound was found. There were no other  armed servicemen at the outpost at the time of the incident. On the  same day, a criminal case was initiated at the RA Investigative  Committee. An inspection of the scene was carried out, the necessary  documents were requested and received, a number of examinations have  been commissioned, and the servicemen were interrogated. In the  course of the investigation, factual evidence was obtained that  another military serviceman from the same border outpost Kh.A. who  instigated his comrade-in-arms to commit suicide, systematically  humiliating the personal honor and dignity of Artush Gevorgyan with  manifestations characteristic of hazing.

Based on the factual data obtained, the supervising prosecutor, by  his decision, initiated a public criminal prosecution against Kh.A.,  and the body conducting the proceedings charged him under part 1 of  Art. 522 of the RA Criminal Code. On March 15 Kh.A. was detained. By  the decision of the judge of the court of general jurisdiction of the  Syunik region, on March 16, detention was chosen as a preventive  measure against him. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
