ArmInfo.The Armenian leadership is trying to lay responsibility for the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh on third countries, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 16 during a briefing, commenting on the statement of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that the Russian Federation assumed the function of NK security guarantor.

As Zakharova noted, the Russian side considers the statements of the  Armenian leadership as a continuation of the line that was taken at  the summit in Prague in October 2022 under the auspices of the EU. "  Therefore, we leave the attempts to hold third countries responsible  for the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh to the conscience of the Armenian  side, the leadership of Armenia," she said.

When asked whether Russia should protect Karabakh if Azerbaijan wants  to take control of the territories under the responsibility of the  peacekeepers, the diplomat replied that <the subjunctive mood or  future 3D prototyping is inappropriate>. <There are specific  obligations fixed on document. Today at a government meeting, Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan  hopes that Moscow will fulfill its assumed function of guarantor of  the security of the population and  the safety of civil  infrastructures of Nagorno-Karabakh.
