ArmInfo.Iraq intends to intensify ties with Armenia in the educational and cultural sectors, including in the context of the exchange of experience. Mohammad Khoshnau, Head of the Iraq-Armenia Friendship Group of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq, announced this readiness during a meeting with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan. According to the press service of the MESCS, the Iraqi side was particularly interested in the experience of Armenia in the field of preschool, general, higher and inclusive education. It was proposed to conduct joint retraining of specialists, organize round tables and discussions.
The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation in the cultural sector, in particular, the exchange of experience in the field of preserving cultural monuments, museums, and also touched upon the possibility of retraining in the field of contemporary art and cultural heritage. The Deputy Minister presented to the guest the program for the development of education in Armenia until 2030, which, according to him, is a road map, including in the context of expanding cooperation. Referring to the goals of the document, Martirosyan noted that 4 universities of Armenia will become leaders in world rankings and a desirable educational milestone for many countries. The Deputy Minister also expressed readiness on behalf of Armenia to expand the areas of cooperation with Iraq. It should be noted that according to the MESCS, today 300 students from Iraq receive education in the universities of Armenia.
