ArmInfo. Azerbaijan does not intend to give up its aggressive policy towards Armenia and the Armenian people. On March 14, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a press conference.
According to him, Baku has territorial claims to the sovereign territories of Armenia, and it is for this reason that the negotiation process for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has reached a dead end. This is also evidenced by obvious and illegal provocations against sovereign Armenia, which contradicts the agreements reached in Sochi and Prague. <Azerbaijan has started a new stage of aggression>, the head of government noted.
Speaking about the problems of Armenian refugees, Pashinyan pointed to the protest actions that are periodically held in front of the RA government building by internally displaced persons from the occupied Artsakh city of Hadrut. "They are doing the right thing, because one of the points of the tripartite statement dated November 9, 2020 directly indicates the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to their places of permanent residence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the areas closest to it under the auspices of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. So far, no one has offered the residents of Hadrut to return to their homes, which is a gross violation of the tripartite statement by Azerbaijan>, Pashinyan said, adding that the Armenian side constantly raises this issue. The same applies to the Armenians, internally displaced persons from the city of Shushi.
The Prime Minister also noted that Armenians internally displaced from Nakhichevan are no less active in raising the issue in the Armenian government. Pashinyan pointed to the existence of facts testifying to the destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage in Nakhichevan. <You all know about the forced deportation of Armenians from Baku, Sumgayit, Kirovabad, Shaumyan, Getashen>, the head of Armenian government said, adding that there were no cases in Armenia forced eviction of Azerbaijanis. Moreover, there are documents in the archives that indicate that the government of Soviet Armenia paid astronomical amounts to Azerbaijanis in the form of compensation.
