ArmInfo. The factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, expressing their and popular will, demand that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia remain committed to the resolution by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia of July 8, 1992, and not call into question the Artsakh people's right to self-determination, reads a joint statement by the factions of the National Assembly of Nagorno-Karabakh.
In a few days there will be the 100th day of the Azerbaijan-enforced blockade of the 120,000 residents of the Republic of Artsakh. In defiance of the ruling by the International Court of Justice, the Azerbaijani leadership, by means of threats and force, continues its policy of forcing the Armenian population out of Artsakh.
"Azerbaijan is even resorting to inhumane means and acts of terror in pursuing its goal to annex the Republic of Artsakh. Gas and electricity supply disruptions, intimidation of the civilian population and restrictions on movement, shooting of the Armenian police officers on March 5 are evidence that any talks about direct dialogue are unacceptable.
"On the other hand, we are sure that the Karabakh conflict, as an issue on the international agenda, must be settled by means of negotiations through the mediation and with guarantees of the relevant international agencies, particularly with the involvement of the entitled Minsk Group co-chairing countries.
"Azerbaijan's politico-military leadership is resorting to propaganda ploys to delude the international community and agencies into believing in an 'era of peace' amid humanitarian pressure on and intimidation of the Artsakh people.
"The factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, expressing their and popular will, demand that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia remain committed to the resolution by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia of July 8, 1992, and not call into question the Artsakh people's right to self-determination. All the factions of the Parliament of Artsakh reaffirm their commitment to the fundamental documents expressing our people's will. The factions will continue following the principles contained in the documents," reads the statement.
