ArmInfo. The opening of the FUTURE ARMENIAN Assembly took place in Dvin Hotel in Yerevan today. More than two hundred people from all over the world gathered to participate in it. The Assembly will be held for 3 days - from March 10 to March 12.
The initiator of the Assembly, well-known businessman Ruben Vardanyan, who was unable to come to the Assembly from the Republic of Artsakh, greeted the participants of the meeting via video link.
"Now, being in Artsakh, I feel more acutely the importance of those issues around which twenty years ago we united with Noubar Afeyan and our other friends. It is no coincidence that on this very day, eight years ago, the Aurora Humanitarian Prize was launched in New York. I am sure that today's event, which, unfortunately, I will not be able to attend, will play a significant role in this regard, helping to find answers to many important questions. To date, a lot of work has already been done - we have managed to unite 110,000 people from 108 countries of the world. To those two hundred of them who started discussions in Yerevan, I wish truly open, honest, sincere discussions, and, as Mr. Noubar said, you don't have to quietly agree with other people's opinions, you just need to respect them>, Vardanyan noted.
Divided into groups, the participants of the Assembly will discuss and speak for three days on such topical issues for Armenians as "Historical responsibility", "Armenia-Diaspora unities", "Population growth". They will discuss issues related to national heritage, preservation of the national identity of future generations, issues of ensuring the security of Artsakh and other current national topics.
