ArmInfo.Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan and Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan held a government meeting on fire and technical safety issues at gas stations. Industry officials and representatives of private companies attended the meeting. Garegin Khachatryan, Head of Urban Development, Technical Standards and Fire Safety Inspectorate, presented in detail the conclusions drawn from preliminary inspections at 209 gas stations in Yerevan.
Taking into account the existing problems in the field, the need to study internationally recognized norms, possible solutions and alternative methods was emphasized.
According to Tigran Khachatryan, regulations in the field should be such that they do not ignore the threat to people's lives, as well as be understandable and applicable to organizations working in the field. In turn, Arayik Harutyunyan focused on the issue of social responsibility in all areas and stressed that human security should not be in the background.
