ArmInfo. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, made  a statement in connection with the escalation of tension in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Thus, in a statement by Zakharova published on the website of the  Russian Foreign Ministry, in particular, it is noted: "We express  serious concern about the escalation of tension in the zone of the  Nagorno- Karabakh conflict. Over the past few days there have been  repeated violations of the ceasefire regime. On March 5, an armed  incident took place, resulting in human casualties from both the  Armenian and Azerbaijani sides>.

At the same time, Moscow urged the parties to show restraint and take  steps to de-escalate the situation.  , she added.  According to her, the incident once  again confirms the imperativeness of the speedy return of Baku and  Yerevan to negotiations as part of the implementation of the  provisions of the tripartite statements of the leaders of Russia,  Azerbaijan and Armenia dated November 9, 2020, January 11 and  November 26, 2021, as well as October 31, 2022 , including those  related to the unblocking of regional communications, the  delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the preparation  of a peace treaty.

It should be noted that on March 5, at around 10:00, a sabotage group  of the armed forces of Azerbaijan opened fire on the duty car of the  Passport and Visa Department of the Police in the area called  Haipalu. As a result of the sabotage attack, three police officers of  the NKR Ministry of Internal Affairs were killed.  Another police  officer is badly injured. Azerbaijani media report up to 8 losses  from their side.
