ArmInfo. The former state minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan has presented the areas of importance for Artsakh's future he plans to continue his work in and of the projects he and his Foundation We Are Our Mountains are implementing.
Mr Vardanyan emphasizes his goal remains sparing no effort for a free, secure Armenian Artsakh living in dignity. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Karabakh movement, but the struggle continues.
"For many struggle is war and sacrifices. I view struggle as accurately assessing your string and weak points, knowing the ways of neutralizing the threats of your weak points, strengthening your strong points to your advantage. Struggling for me is asking myself every day what I have to do in this direction," Mr Vardanyan said.
He singles out eight areas projects will be implemented in. strengthening the international personality; security and defense, including an efficient civil defense system; creating a viable economy; opposing hybrid warfare; high-quality and competitive education.
"Carrying out our tasks requires consistent work and combined efforts. The government alone is incapable of doing this work. All the resources - individual and public - with the Armenian world's potential involved. As a society we cannot cope with the challenges facing us unless we unite. We must do our best to trust each other," Mr Vardanyan said. The We Are Our Mountains territorial agency, which was established last November, has implemented $4mln worth projects in two principal areas: strategic initiatives and social development.
Mr Vardanyan highlights the importance of public confidence, pointing out that he has adopted the principle of transparency as the fundament for his activities as "transparency is the basis for justice." "Staying in Artsakh I will be consistent to ensure that these principles are followed," he said.
Mr Vardanyan points out a need for observing the "redlines" involving Artsakh, which is of high importance for Artsakh's security and freedom. "We will be consistent in ensuring that the redlines never be crossed, as it can never be allowed," Mr Vardanyan said.
