ArmInfo.The parliamentary form of government in Armenia will be preserved. On March 2, RA Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan stated this in an interview with journalists.
According to him, the Council of Constitutional Reforms, etablished to reform the country's Basic Law, decided to maintain the current model of public administration. The scope of powers of the Prime Minister, representatives of the executive branch and other government bodies is planned to be discussed at the end of March.
The minister noted that the process of constitutional reforms is proceeding normally, in addition to meetings of the Council for Constitutional Reforms, public discussions are also held. "Some conceptual provisions have already been outlined, these are provisions regarding the chapter of the Constitution associated with the president. The decision to preserve and improve the form of state government has already been taken by the council. At this stage, we are forming a new commission. The previous commission exercised its powers during the corresponding period. Next week new candidates will be elected," Minasyan said, adding that he intended to briefly present to the public those parts of the Constitution on which the Council had already voted.
It should be noted that the Council for Constitutional Reforms was established by the decision of the Prime Minister on January 27, 2022.
