ArmInfo. By the "Armenian crossroads" Armenia's Premier Nikol Pashinyan is only realizing a Turkic dream, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Armen Ashotyan believes.
To substantiate his words he published a map of the region's logistic routes.
Armenia's premier often says that the unblocking of regional links will have a positive effect on the country.
"Nikol [Pashinyan] even coined a new term to make this deal sound pleasant to the ear: 'Armenian crossroads'.
"I have repeatedly proved that the Azerbaijan-Turkey communication project via Syunik is not only causing damage to Armenia, but is of no international logistical importance either. The reason is that Russia, Iran and India are seeking to develop the North-South corridor and the East-West corridor with the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway completed and operating 5-7 percent of its real capacity," Mr Ashotyan stated.
He calls for examining the premier-published map to be convinced that it is only the Turkey-Azerbaijan alliance that needs this logistic opportunity via Syunik as a means of geopolitical expansion.
"So by the 'Armenian crossroads' Nikol [Pashinyan] is only realizing a Turkic dream," Mr Ashotyan stated.
