ArmInfo. A total of 789,100 Russian tourists visited Armenia last year, the RF Statistical Service reports. According to the source, in general, the tourist flow from Russia abroad increased by 17.1% last year, amounting to 22.5 million trips. Of the total number of outbound tourist trips, 77.7% were carried out to non-CIS countries and 22.3% - to the CIS member states.
Among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the most visited were Kazakhstan (2.4 million trips), Armenia (789.1 thousand) and Kyrgyzstan (399.7 thousand).
At the same time, the demand of Russians for tourist trips to Mongolia (by 77.2 times), Thailand (by 11.8 times), Georgia (by 7 times), Kazakhstan (by 4.9 times) and India (by 4 times) grew the most in 2022. .8 times). The number of tourist trips of Russians to Turkey decreased by 2.2% over the year, to Egypt - by 3.5%, to the Maldives - by 29.3%, to the Dominican Republic - by 46.9%, to Cuba - by 66.3%.
Earlier, RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan reported that in 2022 the number of tourists visiting Armenia amounted to about 1.67 million people. "In December 2022, according to operational data, about 130,000 tourists visited Armenia, exceeding the record figure of 2019 by about 20,000," Kerobyan noted.
