ArmInfo.Team Telecom Armenia Telecommunications company provided the necessary equipment for the opening of the official examination center International English Language Testing System (IELTS) at the National Polytechnic University.
According to the press service of the company, the examination center will consist of two rooms, for which Team Telecom Armenia provided a total of 40 computers.
As Gor Vardanyan, rector of NPU, noted, the center, which is being opened as a result of long-term work with the British Council, will provide an opportunity to improve and deepen the knowledge of the English language for the professional and student society of the University.
He also expressed his gratitude to the co-founder and CEO of Team Telecom Armenia Hayk Yesayan for his constant assistance. "In all cases the new initiative provides an opportunity to create new value at the university, both in terms of education and in terms of providing new financial flows andTeam Telecom Armenia provides us with support," he stressed, expressing hope, that this cooperation will be long-term.
In turn, Hayk Yesayan noted that knowledge of the English language is necessary for technical education and development, but this is not enough. "Today, the Polytechnic University is ready to take highly qualified exams that provide an opportunity to achieve new professional successes. It is a priority for us to provide support in the implementation of educational programs>, he said.
British Ambassador to Armenia John Gallagher noted: "With the opening of the Center, we are helping Armenian students to enter the British education system. This is a good way to support students who want to develop their language skills and access the British education system."
It is reported that the Center will start its work in March this year. According to the source, IELTS is the world's most popular English language test for higher education and global migration. This is one of the main English language testing systems along with TOEFL.
