ArmInfo.Ukraine is ready for any pace of developments, because for us, as well as for any state, this is a matter of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of the fundamental elements of our existence. Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Armenia Oleksandr Senchenko stated this in an interview to the RFE/RL's Armenian Service.
Commenting on Kyiv's position regarding negotiations with the Russian side, he stressed that Ukraine does not intend to negotiate cessions of its territory and statehood. Senchenko expressed confidence that the war would end with the victory of Ukraine. <This is what everyone is up to. This is the basis for the support of Ukraine from the international community, a coalition of partners>, he said, saying that at this stage, work is underway to ensure that the Russian Federation is held accountable, a special international tribunal is being established. Speaking about the nuclear danger, the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Armenia recalled that during the invasion last year, the Russian Federation in Ukraine captured both the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Senchenko considers Russia's withdrawal from the agreement with the United States on the movement of nuclear materials as an undermining of the strategic balance between the two leading nuclear powers. "If the Russian Federation took such a step, it means nuclear blackmail, because the zero-sum game implies that neither side wins. Simply put, this means "mutual destruction","the diplomat emphasized.
Speaking about the consequences of the war, Oleksandr Senchenko said that during the year in Ukraine the number of dead children reached 461 and another 926 were injured, 350 were missing. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed 171 medical centers, more than a thousand were damaged, the amount for their restoration is estimated at $1 billion.
