ArmInfo.More than 60% of the participants of the "iGorts" professional repatriation program of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia stayed to live and work in Armenia. Head of the iGorts program Hermine Harutyunyan announced during a press conference on February 24.
In particular, she stressed with satisfaction that many of the Diaspora specialists continued to work in government agencies, including in leadership positions. According to Harutyunyan, mainly applications for participation in the program come from the Russian Federation, the United States, Lebanon, France, and Germany. However, in recent years, Latin American countries, including Argentina, have become more active. "Specialists from 10-14 countries participate in the program every year," she stressed.
The head of the program noted that, given the limited duration of the iGorts, various events are envisaged for the integration of participants, including visits to the country's regions, visits to cultural institutions, meetings with government officials, etc., if desired. As Harutyunyan noted, everyone could apply for participation from February 15 this year, the deadline for accepting applications is April 5 this year.
It should be noted that the iGorts program was launched in 2020 and is funded by the state. Every year 50 specialists from the Diaspora participate in the program. The main goal of the program is to stimulate professional repatriation, promote the development of public administration bodies and the start of new processes in the public administration system.
