Court session on case against former Defense Minister postponed

ArmInfo. The court session on the criminal case against the former RA Minister of Defense David Tonoyan has been postponed. This is stated in the statement of the  lawyers of the former Minister of Defense.

<The agreement reached with the judge to hold court hearings every  Tuesday in the criminal case against David Tonoyan was violated by  the latter in connection with participation in training courses.  Instead of scheduling a court session for February 21, 2023, a court  session was scheduled for February 28, 2023. It turns out that David  Tonoyan and other persons under arrest in the same case should also  remain in custody this time in connection with the training courses  of a judge, which does not follow from the provisions of the European  Convention on Human Rights," the lawyers said in a statement. .

On February 6, the RA Criminal Court of Appeal rejected the petition  for the release of David Tonoyan, leaving the decision of the  Anti-Corruption Court in force. The former secretary of defense, who  is accused of embezzling more than $4.5 million in the unusable  missiles case, has been in custody for a year and four months.  Tonoyan himself denies all accusations.
