Moscow constantly shuffles cards - Political scientist

According to him, when the US Secretary of State called Azerbaijani  President Ilham Aliyev on September 13 last year, the latter stopped  the aggression against Armenia. Meanwhile, when they called again,  this time for unblocking the Lachin Corridor, there were no  appropriate actions from Baku, which, according to Grigoryan, proves  that Moscow is also involved in these processes.

"Today the whole world is putting pressure on Azerbaijan, and this  strong pressure will ultimately, I am sure of this, lead to results  desirable for the Armenian sides in the near future," the political  scientist noted.  This pressure is evidenced by almost daily  statements by the leaders of various states and international  organizations. Germany occupied a special place here, which  previously did not react to what was happening. , the  political scientist emphasized.

In his opinion, Russia creates a problem in this matter, which  constantly shuffles cards and has a clearly expressed pro-Azerbaijani  position. "It is very important here that the United States, France  and Germany point to the obligations of the Russian Federation to  fulfill the provisions of the tripartite statement," Grigoryan said.

He noted that Moscow is also aware of the difficulty of keeping the  Lachin corridor closed for a long time, and the road will be opened  after the appropriate agreement between Russia and Azerbaijan. "But  at the same time, there will be a blow against Armenia, for which we  must be prepared. Why did Lavrov openly speak out against us, calling  us "occupiers"? Definitely, Russia does not want to lose Armenia and  the Armenian people, but wants to use the fifth column in the  country. But it should be noted that by its message Russia itself has  weakened its positions. There is a serious decline in the authority  of the Russian Federation even in front of its allies, as evidenced  even by the policy of Serbia, which is already forced to work with  Ankara on the Kosovo issue.

The same thing is happening in Armenia, and Moscow is trying to use  the fifth column to aggravate the situation inside the country, but  it is unlikely that anything serious will happen in this matter. For  a long time, the society of Armenia has not evaluated Russia's role  in the current crisis very one-sidedly >, the political scientist  said. Nevertheless, Grigoryan called on the Armenian authorities to  pay special attention to Sergey Lavrov's speech, which poses a  serious threat to the country. "These are not just words, the  appropriate steps will follow in the very near future and you need to  be ready for these steps," the political scientist emphasized.
