ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad. This was reported by the press service of the government.
It is reported that Prime Minister Pashinyan, on behalf of himself and on behalf of the Armenian government, expressed condolences to the President and people of friendly Syria in connection with the numerous victims as a result of the devastating earthquake on February 6.
He noted that Armenia is going to support Syria in eliminating the consequences and alleviating the difficult living conditions of the population affected by the earthquake. Expressing gratitude for the support, Bashar Al Assad noted that at the moment the main problem is related to the provision of food.
During the conversation, an agreement was reached that Armenia would send food products to Syria, as well as other types of assistance. The President of Syria thanked for the assistance to be provided and expressed hope that it will be possible to overcome the severe consequences of the earthquake as quickly as possible also with the help of the Republic of Armenia.
