ArmInfo.Armenia is in the center of a clash of interests of the power centers, and not only as a result of the actions of world powers, but also of the country's authorities.
This was stated on February 3 during the parliamentary hearings on the draft statement of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on the situation in the Lachin corridor zone, the head of the "Armenia" opposition faction, Armenia's ex-minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan stated.
According to him, all these factors have led to the fact that the circle around Armenia and Artsakh is shrinking. Ohanyan recalled that the opposition had convened an extraordinary session of parliament back in December. It was planned to adopt a statement on the blockade of the corridor and condemn the actions of Azerbaijan, but the Civil Contract faction ruling in the country refused to accept it.
The head of the faction noted that the current hearings in the National Assembly are taking place in a rather difficult geopolitical situation, which has a serious impact on Armenia and Artsakh.
The Civil Contract faction is not participating the hearing. The event began with a minute of silence in memory of those who died in the battles for their homeland. Hearings are held with the participation of the parliamentary opposition, various public organizations, and the expert community.
