ArmInfo. Discussions on the candidacy of the Human Rights Defender continue in the ruling "Civil Contract" faction in Armenia. On February 2, MP from "Civil Contract" faction Arusyak Julhakyan told journalists. She noted that at the moment there is no decision on the candidacy of the Ombudsman.
When asked about the circulating rumors about the nomination of Julhakyan herself for this position, the MP noted that she was hearing about it for the first time. She noted that various candidates are being discussed, but there is no final decision yet. <I propose not to rush, as soon as the decision is made, information about it will be properly disseminated,> the MP said.
Let's remind that on January 23, Human Rights Defender Kristine Grigoryan submitted to the country's parliament an application to be released from the position of Human Rights Defender due to a change in the field of activity, without detailing the specific field. According to some Armenian media reports, Grigoryan will be appointed the director of the newly established service of foreign intelligence of the Republic of Armenia.
