ArmInfo. Russia is very worried about the possibility of changing the vector of its presence in the South Caucasus region. Analyst Armen Chibukhchyan stated this  in an interview with ARTN.TV, commenting on the Russian Foreign  Ministry's statement about sending an observation mission of the  European Union to the borders of Armenia.

The statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry notes that, "if  Brussels were sincerely interested in peace in the Transcaucasus,  they would agree on the terms of their mission's work with  Azerbaijan."

In this regard, as the analyst noted, it is unavoidably obvious that  the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry more than obviously  protects the interests of Azerbaijan, thereby demonstrating love and  friendship with the enemy of Armenia. Against this background, as  Chibukhchyan noted, it is difficult to assess the capabilities of the  CSTO, which also declared its commitment to send its observation  mission to Armenia.  <The deployment of the EU observer mission in  Armenia means that for two years neither Russia nor Azerbaijan will  be able to blackmail Armenia, getting the results they need. In the  end, it is unavoidably obvious that Russia has always used Azerbaijan  as the main factor in blackmailing Armenia, and Azerbaijan, in its  turn, used Russia, moreover, their actions were often secretly  coordinated with each other," the analyst noted.  Meanwhile, the  analyst noted that the actions of the Russian side can be understood.  When the armed forces of Azerbaijan invade the sovereign territory of  Armenia, in response, instead of adequate actions, there are calls  for the delimitation and demarcation of the border. "The actions of  the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh are also understandable,  they say, what can we do, because we are talking about" eco-  activists ",  the analyst noted, adding that for the time being, the  Russian Federation is talking only about political pressure on  Yerevan, but when it comes to economic pressure, then it will become  clear to all citizens of Armenia without exception that Moscow is  extremely unfriendly to Yerevan.

The analyst stressed that by putting pressure on Armenia, Russia is  trying to get the so-called "Zangezur corridor". <With the advent of  the monitoring mission of the European Union, the opportunities for  blackmail will decrease many times over. It is for this reason that  the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry should be taken, since  the possibilities for maneuvers for both Russians and Azerbaijanis  are significantly reduced>, Chibukhchyan emphasized.  <Russia wants  Nagorno-Karabakh to always remain in limbo, since it is a link  between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a key factor for control over both  states. It is beneficial for Russia to have Nagorno-Karabakh as a  disputed territory in order to permanently influence the region>, the  analyst said.
