ArmInfo.The delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan is on a three-day working visit in the State of Qatar. On January 24, the President of the Shura  Council (Al-Shura of Majlis) Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim received  the delegation led by the RA NA President.

As the RA NA's press service reports, Alen Simonyan thanked Al-Ghanim  for the invitation and warm hospitality.  The sides recorded the  necessity of the programmes to be implemented in the development of  the Armenia-Qatar inter-state, particularly inter-parliamentary  cooperation.

The RA NA President noted that the development of multifaceted  relationship with the Arab world is one of the primary directions of  foreign policy of Armenia.  Regarding the importance of parliamentary  diplomacy, the sides documented the role and work of the  Parliamentary Friendship Groups in that issue.

Alen Simonyan presented details about the post-war situation and the  ambitions of Azerbaijan towards the territorial integrity of Armenia.

"I am sure that the Armenia-Qatar cooperation has great potential for  development and me, as the President of the RA National Assembly is  ready to support the development of Armenia-Qatar mutually beneficial  collaboration for the benefit of our brotherly peoples," he added.  The Qatar colleague referred to the necessity of establishing peace  in the region.

Ideas were exchanged on the economic cooperation. The Arab colleague  touched upon the various wars going on in the world, noting that the  wars being fought on the basis of religious and racist  discrimination, aggression are unacceptable for them. The sides  mentioned that the parliaments have a lot to do in the fight against  them.

Alen Simonyan invited his colleague to Armenia on an official visit.

The Head of Armenia-Qatar Friendship Group Vahagn Aleksanyan, the  members of the Friendship Group Hasmik Hakobyan, Trdat Sargsyan and  Taguhi Tovmasyan, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Science,  Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan and  the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan are in the delegation led  by the RA NA President.
