ArmInfo. The "Armenia" opposition faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia expresses deep condolences to the families of the servicemen who died in the fire. This is stated in the message of the faction on its Facebook page.
<Another disaster is recorded in the armed forces. As a result of the fire, 15 servicemen died in the fire, there are wounded. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, relatives and our people. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured soldiers. At the same time, we state that this tragedy once again proved the lack of political responsibility of the government. It was the ignorance of the constantly sounding alarms, including those documenting the shameful and deplorable state of army construction, deployment conditions, building construction and the organization of maintenance of individual parts of our armed forces, equipping many sections of the border strip, that led to the tragedy" the statement says. In the statement of another opposition faction, "I have the honor", which was circulated by NA deputy Hayk Mamijanyan, it is emphasized that the tragedy is the result of the collapse of the state administration system and the criminal indifference shown by the military and political authorities towards the army. <This government of Armenia brings only death and disaster to our people, and in the conditions of a decapitated army, unfortunately, such tragedies have become inevitable in our reality. The "I have the honor" faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia expresses condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the 15 dead servicemen, wishes a speedy recovery to the wounded servicemen," the statement says, which also emphasizes that the "I have the honor" faction will be consistent in the issue of legal and political responsibility of the true perpetrators of the tragedy. As a result of a night fire in the barracks in the village of Azat, Gegharkunik region, 15 conscripts died, three were hospitalized in serious condition. Authorities cited a violation of the rules for handling flammable substances as the reason. The command staff of the 2nd Army Corps was dismissed.
