Defense Attache of Chinese Embassy in Armenia stresses important role  of humanitarian demining in ensuring safety of people

ArmInfo.Senior Colonel An Qiang, Defense Attache of the Embassy of China in Armenia, paid a familiarization visit to the "Center for Humanitarian Demining and  Expertise" SNCO.

According to the Center's press service, in his speech, the Defense  Attache of the Embassy of China in Armenia stressed the important  role of humanitarian demining in ensuring people's safety.

During the educational visit, Qiang got acquainted with the  activities of the Center and the possibilities of the educational  base. Possible ways of cooperation in the field of humanitarian  demining, exchange of experience and knowledge were discussed.

In turn, the head of the Center Vaghinak Sargsyan noted that in the  course of the recent military operations carried out by the  Azerbaijani Armed Forces, many settlements of the Republic of Armenia  were subjected to rocket and artillery shelling, as a result of which  the areas contaminated with mines and ammunition increased.

"This circumstance clearly threatens the free movement of the  civilian population and the implementation of normal life. That is  why demining remains an urgent issue on the agenda," Vaghinak  Sargsyan noted and expressed hope that a basis will be created for  cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and China in the field of  humanitarian demining.
