ArmInfo. The blockade of Artsakh arises new challenges. State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Chief of the Operational Headquarters Ruben Vardanyan stated at a regular meeting of the operational headquarters, referring to the current situation in the republic against the backdrop of the Azerbaijani blockade.
"The blockade is changing the economy and priorities of the state. The state is already forced to respond to the problems arising in the economic and social sectors as a result of the blockade by revising its work, approaches, directions," said Ruben Vardanyan.
At the same time, the blockade and the crisis caused by it, according to him, make it necessary to use available resources more rationally, identify all problems, including those related to the shadow economy, and introduce more effective management models. It was also noted that, by order of the Minister of State, a working group was established to develop measures aimed at mitigating the economic and social consequences of the blockade.
During the meeting, it was reported on the implementation of the coupon system, and it was emphasized that organizational and technical work is being carried out in accordance with the established schedule. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the system, appropriate outreach and training activities will be carried out both for suppliers and for the owners of outlets. The sale of several main groups of goods by coupons will be carried out through 200 stores in Stepanakert and 400 stores in the regions.
It was reported about the tense situation with energy supply in the republic. Energy supply from Armenia to Artsakh is still interrupted, as the Azerbaijani side does not allow specialists to enter the territory under their control to find out the reasons for the interruption. In order to meet the minimum energy needs of the population for as long as possible, a four-hour rolling outages schedule will be introduced from tomorrow instead of the current two hours.
It was reported on the situation in the markets of food products, medicines, diesel fuel. It was also noted that as a result of the measures taken, it was possible to reduce tension in the field of cash circulation.
