ArmInfo. The Radioisotope Production Center CJSC will be excluded from the program of privatization of state property for 2017-2020. The National Assembly of Armenia at the plenary session on January 16 in the first reading discusses the relevant amendments to the law "On the State Property Privatization Program for 2017-2020".
According to Deputy Minister of Health Armen Nazaryan, the center was established in 2010, but it started its activities only in June 2020. The Center plays an important role in improving the health of the population, has highly qualified specialists in various fields, thanks to which more than 800 positron emission tomography studies have already been carried out. It is the only one of its kind in the republic, and for a number of services - in the region.
The government's decision also provides for the preservation of state funding for the Center with the transfer of share management to the Ministry of Health and ensuring the improvement and development of the services provided. The Center continues its program development in the direction of new achievements in the field of nuclear medicine, and also closely cooperates with the laboratory named after A. Alikhanyan.
Close cooperation has been established with the leading oncological institution in Armenia - the Research Institute of Oncology named after. Fanarjyan, who has achieved success in the field of early diagnosis and the fight against malignant neoplasms. The deputy minister also said that there is a business plan for the development of the center, which will be applied immediately after the adoption of the law. The organization attracted four loans from the government of the Republic of Armenia in different years for a total amount of 2.2 billion drams, the repayment of which should begin in 2023. "And if the company's recovery process is not started, serious problems may appear," Nazaryan said.
