ArmInfo. The domestic political situation in Artsakh has been defused as compared with the previous days, Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the opposition bloc With Honor, stated as he commented on Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan's possible resignation.
"I hope that, in this complicated situation round Artsakh, the key actors will go on displaying common sense, logic and wisdom and will not create any further threats to Artsakh," Mr Abrahamyan said.
"Armenians living in Artsakh are facing serious problems, and all the resources must be mobilized for them.," he added.
Last Saturday, the circles close to the Armenian premier's team and to the Artsakh president disseminated reported on possible early parliamentary and presidential elections in Artsakh, as well as on planned removal of State Minister Ruben Vardanyan. A smear campaign against Mr Vardanyan was launched after he severely criticized Armenia's authorities over the Azerbaijan-imposed blockade. Media outlets reported official Yerevan ordered the Artsakh president to dismiss Vardanyan. However, Vardanyan stated he did not intend to resign.
Moreover, the government-controlled media have reported that, after negotiations, Ruben Vardanyan will continue as Artsakh state minister provided he refrains from political statements.
