ArmInfo. On January 12, at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stressed the need to issue a new generation of identification cards. According to the prime minister, the existing plastic ID-cards "remained within the technical capabilities of 15 years ago, which, unfortunately, today does not meet modern international requirements."
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan noted that the future carrier will contain much more information than today's passport. < It will include bankcards, a driver's license, a certificate of inspection of a car and more. Everything will be transferred to a single carrier, which will later become a mobile carrier. What will give us the opportunity to live a full life without any plastic carrier>, he explained.
According to him, the terms of international tenders have already been agreed. "I think we will publish it in the near future, and after summing up the results of the tender, the actual implementation of the program will begin within 6 months," the vice-premier noted.
