ArmInfo.Last year, the cargo traffic of the South Caucasus Railway Company totaled 3.51mln tons - a 14.1% growth as compared with 2021.
Exported cargoes totaled 451,000 tons - a 12.5% growth as compared with 2021, mainly due to industrial supplies and container cargoes. Inland cargo traffic totaled 2.144mln - a 3.3% growth as compared with 2021, mainly due to industrial supplies. Export cargoes exceeded 906,000 tons, mainly to due grain, oil and industrial cargoes. Passenger traffic totaled 501,000 passengers - a 15% growth as compared with 2021. Specifically, international passenger traffic reached 58,200, with the inland passenger traffic being 442,700.
The company completely implemented its 2022 investment programme, with its investments totaling AMD 3.8bln - AMD 2.9bln in the infrastructure and AMD 900mln in the rolling stock.
CEO Alexey Melnikov said that the growing cargo traffic is evidence of economic entities' growing confidence in the company.
