Ruben Vardanyan: I have always done everything so that the peoples of  Artsakh and the Republic of Azerbaijan could live side by side, but  not together

In an interview with the "ChEZ" program of the RBC TV channel,  Vardanyan commented on today's statement by Azerbaijani Foreign  Minister Jeyhun Bayramov that the businessman should leave the  region, since his activities "are of a criminal and adventurous  nature." , Vardanyan said.

He also commened Yerevan's refusal from the trilateral meeting on  Karabakh in Moscow. When asked by the journalist, Vardanyan replied  that it was "the decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of  Armenia and, probably, the Prime Minister of Armenia." .

According to Vardanyan, the Nagorno-Karabakh side agreed to the  decision to resolve the situation in the Lachin corridor, which was  proposed by the Russian peacekeepers. "But the Azerbaijani side  categorically refused this. Another thing is that before that there  were road closures from the Azerbaijani side, blocking the access of  experts>, he said. Vardanyan also assessed the situation in  Nagorno-Karabakh as a "full- fledged humanitarian crisis", since the  "environmental activists" who blocked the corridor connecting the  region with Armenia let only the cars of the Red Cross and Russian  peacekeepers pass. , he said.  RBC recalled that  in December, the road through the Lachin corridor was blocked by  unknown persons from Azerbaijan, who introduced themselves as  environmental activists, they demanded access to the mines located in  the border area for "inspection" from Azerbaijan. The Russian Defense  Ministry announced later negotiations with Baku on the resumption of  car traffic along the corridor.  Dissatisfaction with the activities  of the Russian peacekeepers, who, in their opinion, could not ensure  unhindered movement along the highway, was expressed by the Armenian  authorities. They refused to send a delegation to Moscow. As a  result, Sergei Lavrov today met only with Azerbaijani Foreign  Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
