Despite November 9 statement, we are where we are: Pashinyan on  Lachin corridor

ArmInfo.The situation in the Lachin corridor is alarming because, despite the tripartite statement of November 9, we are where we are. This was stated by Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan on December 22 at a meeting with RA President Vahagn  Khachaturyan.

According to him, based on the tripartite statement of November 9,  such a situation should not have happened at all. "I hope that as a  result of the efforts and direct communications of our international  partners, as well as certain discussions, we will be able to resolve  this situation, in general, in order to achieve long-term stability  and peace in the region," he said. The prime minister is confident  that all these agenda items will be discussed with the president.   Khachaturyan, in turn, noted that in economic terms, the achievements  of the government are very significant. "Your and the government's  contribution here is very large," he said.

According to the president, there are very few countries in the world  that have achieved such success, "very few countries that have been  able to make the most of their opportunities in difficult global  economic conditions." This, according to the president, is the result  of the work of the government and the ongoing reforms over the past 4  years. <I was wondering h has mostly been freed from ow we achieved  such success. This is mainly due to the fact that our business sector  has mostly been freed from all fetters, it operates freely where it  wants, as it wants. The government is very successful in using its  leverage, especially in terms of economic laws, including tax laws>,  he said.

President Khachaturyan admitted that he always dreamed that Armenia  would become a country where a businessman is interested in working  with the state more honestly, more openly, and paying taxes. Next  year, when Armenia switches to electronic tax reporting, he said,  business sector will be given the opportunity to prove that there is  no need to think with a criminal mindset.

It should be noted that today at a meeting of the Cabinet of  Ministers, Pashinyan stated that the Russian peacekeeping troops do  not fulfill their obligation. < De facto, it turns out that the  peacekeeping troops of the Russian Federation also do not fulfill  their obligation recorded in the trilateral declaration, that is, to  keep the Lachin Corridor under control. Of course, this happens as a  result of Azerbaijan's illegal actions, but this does not change the  situation, because the main purpose of the presence of the  peacekeeping troops of the Russian Federation is to prevent such an  illegality from happening and, in particular, to keep the Lachin  Corridor under control>, Nikol Pashinyan said.
